Marianne Tyler Brown
Director and Teacher (ProfCertHonsRAM LRAM PGDipRNCM MACity PGCHE MSET)

Marianne - CelloSymphonic Tots was created by professional musician and teacher Marianne Tyler Brown. After the birth of her daughter in 2010. Marianne’s background as a Professional Cellist, Cello & Piano Teacher and University Music Lecturer combined with her love of sharing her musical knowledge with young people and her experiences of her own mother’s dedicated work as music therapist inspired her to create Symphonic Tots. The classes are not only great fun but use many elements of the Kodaly Method (see Kodaly Method Page) and inform parents/carers about teaching methods to use at home with their little ones and beyond.

Marianne studied the cello (and second study piano) at The Royal Academy of Music (Prof CertHons, LRAM), Royal Northern College of Music (PGDip) and Liszt Academy in Budapest , Hungary and was awarded a Masters in Cultural Management at City University and PGCHE from Middlesex University and MSET from The Society for Education and Training. Having performed with many leading orchestras and ensembles including The Halle, Welsh National Opera and Bratislava Chamber orchestra her work has also led to recordings for BBC Radio, Television and ITV. Solo and chamber performances include venues throughout the UK and Europe including St James Piccadilly, Victoria & Albert Museum, Royal Academy of Arts, Burgh House, Lauderdale House, Stanjel, Castle Slovenia and Palace of The Arts in Budapest.Marianne has a full DBS certificate, public liability insurance and is a member of The Pre-School Learning Alliance, Kodaly Academy and European String Teachers Association . Marianne combines her work with the Charity  alongside cello performance, music specialist  class teaching, cello and piano teaching and University Music Lectures.
